Smt.Sarojini Ramulamma College of Pharmacy, Mahabubnagar, Affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad, is a dynamic community composed of students, alumni, staff & faculty who share a commitment to the highest standards of excellence. Within this framework many activities will bring marvels that changes the world.

College Welcomes Class of 2009

College of Pharmacy welcomes the entering class of 2009 for the first day of New Student Orientation (NSO).

Members of the entering class will have an opportunity to acquaint themselves with one another and get to know the team of upperclassmen, faculty and staff who have worked to make certain their welcome is a warm one.  During the week, the new pharmacy scholars learn about the pharmacy curriculum, the history of the profession, and professional development opportunities through a myriad of activities scheduled throughout the week.  Social breaks afford them the opportunity to bond as a class.

Extra curricular activities

The College Cultural Proficiency Committee has begun planning for a special event that may well become an annual endeavor–the 2009 Diversity Forum.  This year's forum will invite special guest for diversity.

The forum will be of interest to all our faculty, staff, and students as it will focus on pharmacy's role in addressing health disparities. This session will be styled as an open discussion where the thoughts, experiences, and opinions of all those in attendance promise to make for a lively and productive discussion.

Changing the world-One student initiative at a time

Each day, Pharmacy students work in the classroom and laboratories and they need to prepare themselves for the challenges that their generation will face.  In addition, many are members of professional student organizations who attempt to address global health-related initiatives while they are still students.  Still, it is easy to think it will be some time in the near future where former students will have an opportunity to impact the world.

Staff Appreciation

The College pays tribute to the contribution of faculty each year and Special event takes place. The staff members will be honored.

Each year, two classified staff members are singled out for recognition for their dedication, service, and outstanding job performance via nominations for Excellence or Merit Awards.  The 2009 recipients will be announced during the Annual Staff Appreciation.

JOURNAL CLUB

Pharmacy journal club is a biweekly meeting scheduled for scheduled for scholarly discussion and presentation of journal articles and relevant topics pertaining to various departments like Pharmaceutical Bio-Technology, Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutics, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacognosy and pharmacology.

Every year the meritorious students of D.Pharm, B.Pharm, M.Pharm & Pharm.D will be honored during the annual day celebration.

NEWS

60th IPC 2008 – New Delhi

32 Research papers have been presented by the students & staff of our college in the 60th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress held at New Delhi by 12th, 13th, and 14th of Dec., 2008.

All India Tour

An all India industrial and educational tour was organized for the 3rd & 4th year students to Delhi, Shimla Kullu, Mannali, and Agra for 15 dugs from 10/12/08 to 22/12/08

AICTE Sponsored Seminar

Our college has participated in AICTE Sponsored seminar held at Jayamukhi College of Pharmacy, Narsampet, A.P. and Presented 30 research papers. Mr. D.Vedavathi of III B.Pharm had won the Best Poster Award. “               “

JOURNAL CLUB

Journal Club was inaugurated and functioning from July 2008.

Activities:

  1. The assigned members will submit their research work.
  2. The assigned students of final year B.Pharm will present their research work on weekly basis.

PLACEMENT CELL:

SWINE FLU AWARENESS PROGRAMME

Swine flu awareness programme was conducted in various schools and colleges in and around Mahabubnagar.

This was highly appreciated by all the social welfare organization.

DRUG INFORMATION CENTER:

We have established a DIC in SVS Medical College & Hospital, Mahabubnagar. We are very much glad in providing drug information service to the public, student & health care professionals with all scientific information regarding the recent development and research related to drug/ medicines Poisons.

We also provide novel treatment regimens and contemporary diagnosis for all diseases.
We are vigilant over the arise of newer epidemics through the support of various organizations.
The service will be provided through electronic mail, telephone and direct access.

Sri Umakanth of our college won the 2nd prize (in carroms) in the sports meet at district level and won the state 1st prize (in caroms) held at kakinada on 23-12-2005.

Sri Deepak of our college participated in State Level Weight Lifting Competition and won the Bronze Medal by lifting 474.5kgs, held on 17-12-2005 at Jaggaiahpeta, Krishna District.
